Updated Financial Information
Following the overall trend of increasing enrollment throughout the industry, this school has also experienced a significant increase in enrollment during 2005. Currently, there are 58 children enrolled, more expected over the next several weeks, and the school currently has a waiting list for the after school program. Because of this increase in enrollment, the school's monthly revenue run-rate has increased to approx $21,000 per month and it's recent expenses have been averaging approx $11,000 - $12,000 per month. Will the current Director remain after the sale?
Yes.  There are no plans for the current Director/Kindergarten teacher to leave (per current owners). She has been with the school for over 18 years, she is extremely knowledgeable about the school and it's policies (she enforces them), and she holds a director's certificate and a Montessori teacher's certification. She opens and closes the school and has for 8 yrs. The parents have great respect for her, and old students stop by to see her. She is referred to parents all over the county.

Description of the Staff
The staff has been here for a long time as well. The school is known for having very little turnover, and its experienced teachers. The toddler teacher has been here for 11 years, the cook/cleaner for 2 years, and the aids 3 years. The entire staff is highly reliable and responsible and treats the school as if it were their own.

Local Competition
There are 3 other daycare schools locally. However, we are the only Montessori school in town. Other competition includes a daycare center characterized by a large turn over base, another regular daycare center (which is only 2 years old) which is characterized by young care givers and a large turn over base, and a third regular daycare center that has been in business for as long as we have but only takes governmental children.

Other Information
Most owners / employees in the industry are aware of the downturn that the industry experienced as a result of September 11, 2001. As layoffs ensued, so did an overall decline in enrollment in the industry. If you're an owner, you already know this and you most likely experienced it. If you're not, then you need to research this issue for your own benefit. This school was no exception to the rule. It's revenues peaked in 2001/02 and then it began it's decline to it's low in 2003. However, due to significant improvements in the overall marketplace/economy, the industry (and this particular school) has finally seen revenues increase and it is common knowledge that the industry expects the improving economy to continue it's trend of adding more jobs which means that single-parent households and/or dual-income households will increasingly enroll their kids in schools like this.
